Follow an event or get a ticket: what is the difference?

Following keeps an event in your orbit; a ticket gives you a place and a scannable QR code.

Following an event

Use Follow on an event page when you want to keep up with the event. Following can influence what appears in Home, Timeline and notifications, but it does not reserve a place or create a QR code.

Getting a ticket

Claiming a free RSVP or completing paid checkout creates an individual ticket in Bookings. That ticket is what the organiser checks at entry.

For events with more than one date or time slot, the ticket applies only to the selected session.

Which should you choose?

  • Follow if you are interested but not ready to commit.

  • Get a ticket if you plan to attend and tickets are available.

  • Do both if you want entry and ongoing updates.
